Description
This must-see property is located south of IL-16, and east of county road 2075E between Charleston and Ashmore. The tract sits at the end of a quarter-mile lane that is gated at its intersection with 2075E. As you make your way down the access road, you will enter a large open area that provides a good place to park. This area is large enough to park a camper, vehicles, and side-by-side. As you make your way south from the parking area, you will notice a creek crossing, which gives you access to another large open area. This area is roughly 1.5 acres and would make a great location for a food plot or the addition of some warm-season grasses. The west edge of this area has been lined with downed treetops between the plot and Polecat Creek, which forces the deer to enter at specific places. There are three elevated Millennium blinds on the property. One of the blinds is currently at the north end of this plot, providing a great view with easy access to it. As you make your way further south and across Polecat Creek, you will find a second blind in another strategic location. The blind is located between the creek and a large ridge that runs above it. The contour forces the deer between the creek and the ridge right past the blind. A mowed trail will take you past the blind and eventually make its way to the top of the ridge. Once on top of this trail, you will parallel the south property line and eventually turn on and go back north. There are several great ambush points along this route for additional blinds or tree stands. There is another trail located at the south end of the plot that will take you to the east portion of the property. Once you get to the top, the trail will split, giving the option of going to the south or north. The majority of this trail will go north and provide you access to the far north end, with several other trails branching off of it. Eventually, you will make your way back down in a big bottom along a smaller creek where the third blind is located. This area has an open area that would make a great kill plot and is surrounded by cover. The last main trail heads straight north from the parking area giving good access to the west side. This property has an extensive trail system, a great whitetail history, is very secluded, and has unreal habitat. It is only going to get better as the new foliage continues to grow and get thicker. There are also several locations right now where small microplots could be added and successfully hunted. This property is located in a coveted county that typically does not have a lot of recreational land for sale. You will want to schedule a showing before it is too late. Call Land Specialist, Adam Crumrin for more information.
