This acreage is ideally located joining the 14,725 acre Cookson Hills Game Refuge. The refuge is managed for deer, turkey and even elk. The refuge is open to archery and limited hunting by draw only for gun. The terrain on this property is gently rolling and has a live creek that appears to be spring-fed. There are many species of oak as well as hickory, elm, ash and cedar providing excellent wildlife habitat. There are not too many places in Ok that you can hunt elk, so if you did some clearing and put in a food plot and added some feeders there is a chance you could attract some of the elk off this refuge. Just hearing an elk bugle in Ok would be pretty awesome! There is an easement being put into place that will allow legal access to the north 40 acres.
