How to Enter the 2025 Shed Rally Giveaway

Create Your Own Shed Rally Fun
While not required to participate in Shed Rally, or a part of the official Shed Rally giveaway, consider adding personal layers of enjoyment to shed hunting season.
Of course, as a shed hunter, you’re hoping to find some of the best and biggest shed antlers on the landscape. Primary goals include locating matched sets of the dropped antlers for key target bucks. Hopefully, you find those.
Interestingly, those hoping to find matched sets now have a little more insight. A recent report from the National Deer Association shared details from research by Brian Peterson with the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK). He collected and analyzed antler shed data from 2010 to 2022.
During that period, he collected 1,059 sheds. Of these, 775 were singles (without a match). He also recovered 142 matched pairs. The greatest distance between two sides of a match was 1,251 yards. The shortest distance was less than 1 yard. Approximately half (56) of matched sets were within 11 yards or less of each other, 27 were within 11-110 yards, 23 were 111-547 yards, and seven were even further apart.
Serious shed data aside, you might add your own layers of fun to the big event. While not part of the official Shed Rally, those who want to add additional layers of personalized excitement might even consider a group scavenger hunt. Examples of items to include on the list include:
