The area is a big hunting destination, and we were captivated by the thought of owning a piece of land where we could pursue our passion for elk hunting. The scenic beauty of the ranch, with its diverse landscapes and tons of wildlife, really made this place stand out as incredibly unique. It felt like the perfect blend of rugged wilderness and accessible terrain.

TR: The presentation was incredibly thorough and detailed. TR: I’m particularly fond of the big flat top area with its mild terrain and habitat mix. It’s a hunter’s dream, offering a perfect balance of challenge and accessibility. The setup allows for both active hunting, like chasing bugles in the timber and hills, and more passive approaches, like ambush setups and funnels near the creeks and expansive food sources in the valleys. It’s rare to find a ranch that can offer the hunt and adventure of your choosing and is impossible to just pick one favorite feature on this place. After experiencing it, it’s clear to see why it’s so iconic in the Zuni Mountains and across New Mexico.

TR: The elk numbers on the Ol' Man Ranch are outstanding. Compared to other ranches in the region, the density and quality of the elk herd here are exceptional. It’s not just the quantity that stands out, but the overall health and size of the animals, which speaks to the superior habitat and management practices in place. No doubt New Mexico is known for incredible ranches with world-class elk hunting. Even in that arena, with the management practices and history on the Ol’ Man, we feel it’s a cut above in this region.
